Well we’re sure by now that your favorite show’s end of the year finale has caused some of you to acquire high blood pressure and the end of a television season only means one thing - the start of a new one in Fall 07 - 08! As a television viewer it can become quite frustrating if you aren’t on the inside bubble with the television industry. Well, consider yourself saved because FTC brings your television noggin a cure! So without further adieu I give you the fall 07-08 line up.

CBS has Kid Nation, an inspiring new reality series taking place in Bonanza City, New Mexico, focusing on pioneer children who are willing to literally build Bonanza City from the ground up dealing with political and social issues.

NBC had one break out show last season and that was the sci fi adventure “Heroes“, and even though the cast has enjoyed their success so far some of the twists and turns of the show are even daunting for the cast. Zachery Quinto who plays Sylar pointed out this fact. “My Mother wasn’t happy when my character killed his own Mother. It was pretty difficult for her to watch but that’s my guy, he’s a crazy bastard and I love doing what I do.”

For the first time NBC is committing a full hour to comedy with it’s new series Chuck starring Zachary Levi (Less Than Perfect) about a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government’s most vital secret agent.

Next up is Bionic Woman, which is a spin on the 70’s cult classic. Something that NBC knows how to do is go for the overkill. Their break out show Heroes will be joined with it’s own spin off/ mini series (Date TBA) entitled Heroes Origins a show following other heroes of the world.

Introducing the most new series of all the networks ABC brings eight new series to the chopping block for the fall but there are four that you must see.

A must see Drama comes from the minds of Grey’s Anatomy - Private Practice does for ABC what Grey’s (a show about interning doctors) can’t do for you. It’s mature! Kate Walsh exclaimed, “I feel like I won the Lottery!” when speaking about the show. This swanky, L.A. styled takes you on a journey through the eyes of Grey’s Resident Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) and the new adventures she encounters as she joins the practice. Tim Daly (Eyes) stars as Pete, a possible love interest and Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars) supports the cast as young secretary. This series has already taken over the Grey’s fan base. “I can’t wait to see this show. It’ll be different than Grey’s and I’ll still get to see what Addison is up to!”, says FTCer Chris Cavallo.

ABC’s big comic relief comes in with Cavemen, which is based off of the Cavemen Geico commercials.

Wednesday’s brings a night of promise with Pushing Daises starting off the night. Daises is about a man who has the power to bring dead people to life. This comedic drama stars Sy Richardson as Coroner.

Getting the spot after Grey’s will definitely attract the female viewers. Big Shots takes a dramatic spin on NBC’s “The Office” as the viewers take a journey of the personal lives of CEO’s. This swanky drama stars Michael Vartan (Alias) as James Auster, Dylan McDermott (The Practice) as Duncan Collingsworth and Nia Long ( The Fresh Prince) as Katie Graham.

The CW basically stuck with what they knew. That the 18-35 demographics ruled television, so you know what this means. Hip, cool shows about young people getting through life despite their challenges.

From the mind of Kevin Smith comes a funny, pop culture hit in Reaper. A comedic drama that centers on a man’s 21st birthday. The only thing his parents didn’t clue him in to was that they sold him to the devil and on his big 2 1 he would be a slave to the big man himself by sucking up the evil people with a vacuum cleaner. Brett Harrison (that 70’s show) stars in this witty comedy as Ben.

The most talked about series comes from the minds of The OC. What the OC did for California is what Gossip Girl does for upper New York City. You have glitz, glamour, backstabbing bitches, unrequited loves all rolled into one to make this series I must see for teen and young adults. Starring in this show is Blake Lively (Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants) as Hollywood debutante Serena. This series is already generating buzz – FTC student Heather Crowley exclaims, “This is the show I’ve been waiting for! It’s glamour mixed with the grittiness of New York City. How can you NOT be excited for it?”

For those of you who are concerned about One Tree Hill, don’t worry. Tree Hill kids will be introduced in Jan 08 season but with a spin. They have decided to go ahead and fast forward over those pesky college years, and for those of you who may feel a little neglected and want to see what they were up to between the four years, online journals and blogs will be updated by the “characters” themselves. So while you may not see your fab five until January you can read about all of their adventures on the CW!

FOX goes straight into their new schedule in the summer; forget about starting in the fall.

Introduced in The Fall 07 is one of the most creative shows I’ve seen to date. From the minds of Six Feet Under comes New Amsterdamn. A tale about a man who was given a curse of eternal life. Instead of just sitting around he helps save people in unbelievable ways. However there’s a catch, when he meets his true love this curse is broken and he will age as old as he is in years, which is a few centuries back. The show stars FOX’s version of McDreamy , Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as John Amsterdamn.

K-Ville (writers for Jack&Bobby) is a great drama starring veteran actor Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser as two detectives who despite the struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina patrol the hard crime streets of New Orleans.

A personal favorite is Canterbury’s Law. This is a drama series that we all need to watch. And upon interviewing Julianna Margulies (E.R.) she also agrees. ” My character Elizabeth Canterbury is a head strong attorney. She doesn’t sugar coat anything and she’s out there with a purpose and that’s to serve justice to the city. I feel as though it’s important for me as a woman to portray such a bold character. In this business as an actress you’re told that you’re lucky if you get the part of the girlfriend, but that’s nothing to settle for. We have to step it up in this game and I think this is the show that will do that.”

That’s it for the fall 07 - 08 schedule. Hope you stick around because while some shows look like quite the snooze fest there are a few that will open up the mind to stories that have never been told before. I personally cannot wait.
