William F. Buckly Jr. Dies at 82

William F. Buckly Jr. has died at the age of 82 at his Stanford, Connecticut home. He suffered from diabetes and emphysema, his son said the exact cause of death was not immediately known. Buckly hosted one of the longest running TV programs “Firing Line,” wrote a bi-weekly column “On the Right” and founded shepherded the influential conservative magazine, “National Review.”
He is survived by his son, Christopher; his sisters Priscilla L. Buckley, Patricia Buckley Bozell, and Carol Buckley; his brothers James L., of Sharon, and F. Reid, a granddaughter and a grandson.
