Heading to rival network ABC.
by Niki Cruz
That’s right you’ve heard it here first! “Scrubs” may be getting a whole new make over, and that make over may take them straight to ABC. Now I know what you’re thinking, how will this work with the ever-so-popular other medical show on the same network?
Even though ABC is in the very beginning stages of negotiations it is said they want the half hour comedy to go behind their fall hit “Samantha Who?”.
The reason for this move comes on the heels of NBC cutting 13 episodes of the show from the original 18 that were ordered. Supposedly, the station planned on putting the “left over” episodes on DVD.
Because of this back and forth over the episodes and the several switches “Scrubs” had to endure on the NBC schedule the show had subsequently suffered poor ratings and it was up in the air whether or not it was even being renewed for next season.
There are few details on this negotiation other than ABC being very interested in reviving this series. Whether or not contracts for the actors and writers will be renewed and carried over to the new station is unknown at this time.
